HARTFORD MAN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR DEALING CRACK COCAINE Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that MICHAEL SHARP, 29, of Ashley Street, Hartford, was sentenced yesterday, January 3, by United States District Judge Mark R. Kravitz in New Haven to 60 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release. On September 27, 2007, SHARP pleaded guilty to one count of distributing five grams or more of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”). According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in Court, on July 13, 2007, SHARP distributed one ounce of crack cocaine to a cooperating witness in Hartford. SHARP received $700 for the transaction. This matter was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Hartford Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Edward Kang. | |
