Man Sentenced For Federal Firearms Crime In Davenport Federal Court

DAVENPORT, IA - On August 28, 2008, Eric Haymond, age 27, formerly of Davenport
was sentenced by United States District Court Judge John A. Jarvey to 51 months in federal prison, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. Haymond was sentenced after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a .25 caliber handgun on November 8, 2007 in his Davenport apartment. There is no parole in the federal system. After release from prison, Haymond will be subject to two years of supervised release. Haymond was also order to pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.


This case was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Iowa pursuant to the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative. This investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the Davenport Police Department.
