Ottumwa Man pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

Davenport, IA- On July 17, 2008, Joseph David Curtis, 65, of Ottumwa, Iowa, appeared before United States District Judge John A. Jarvey and entered guilty pleas to one count of receiving child pornography and 2 counts of possessing child pornography announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker.


Receiving child pornography carries a range of punishment of a mandatory minimum of 5 years to not more than 20 years imprisonment, a maximum fine of not more than $250,000, or both. Possessing child pornography carries a range of punishment of not more than 10 years imprisonment, a maximum fine of not more than $250,000, or both.
