Waterloo Man Sentenced On Threat Charges

DES MOINES, IA - On February 13, 2008, Brian Lee Murray, age 26, of Waterloo, Iowa, was sentenced to a term of 78 months imprisonment for 10 threat-related counts including of President, Attorney General, Federal Judges, etc., announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered Murray to serve a three year term of supervised release, and imposed an assessment of $1,000.00 to the Crime Victim Fund.


On May 3, 2007, Murray entered a plea of guilty to the 10 threat-related charges.
This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorneys Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Secret Service.
