INTERPOL Operations and Command Center

The INTERPOL Operations and Command Center (IOCC) is the 24/7 nerve center for the INTERPOL- USNCB. The IOCC provides the mission-critical functions to the organization: communications/dispatch, translation, and criminal record searches. State and Local Liason Training: 28 Apr-1 May 2008

The USNCB conducted a training session for its State, County, Major City, and Territorial Interpol Liaison Offices April 28 - May 1, 2008 in Washington, D.C. In attendance were investigators and analysts from: Virginia State Police, Washington Metropolitan Police Department, Guam Police Department, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Department of Public Safety, Western States Information Network (RISS), Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Maine State Police, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, American Samoa, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, Middle States Organized Crime Information Center (RISS), Maryland State Police, Department of Homeland Security-Transportation Security Administration, and the Department of Homeland Security-U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services.

Attendees were trained in all facets of USNCB operations and international criminal investigative requests. Guest instructors included representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs, and the U.S. Marshals Service. In addition, the Executive Director for Police Services from the Interpol General Secretariat, located in Lyon, France, appeared as a special guest speaker. The training was well received by all in attendance.

NLETS STARS Conference: Dec 2007

The USNCB conducted a training session at the NLETS State Training and Audit Resource Seminar (STARS) Conference held in Salt Lake City, Utah, in December of 2007.

There were 110 representatives from State and Federal agencies in attendance. NLETS will provide access to the INTERPOL database for the majority of law enforcement agencies at the state, county, and municipal level.

Officers in patrol cars that have an NLETS connection, through a mobile data terminal or a personal digital assistant, will be able to query the international database for wanted persons, missing children and parental kidnappers, stolen vehicles, and lost or stolen travel documents, such as passports or national identification cards.
