Treatises are single volumes or sets, often regularly updated, that describe and analyze a limited subject area of the law.
They can be scholarly, practical, and/or a combination of the two; some offer basic or introductory coverage of a topic, while others
are more in-depth.
Westlaw provides several up-to-date, full-text treatises databases on various topics. Below are descriptions of
just a few of the many available:
- Admiralty and Maritime Law, ADMMARL, contains Admiralty and Maritime Law (4th edition)
by Thomas J. Schoenbaum. It covers current practice, recent cases and developments, and offers an overview
of the history and traditions underlying current law.
- 2005 Bankruptcy Reform Legislation with Analysis, BAPCPA, contains 2005 Bankruptcy Reform Legislation
with Analysis 2d. On October 17, 2005, all remaining provisions of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection
