CCH <http://www.cch.com/default.asp>, a provider of tax and business law information and software, produces approximately 700 publications in print and electronic form
for accounting, legal, human resources, banking, securities, insurance, government, and health care professionals. The Wirtz Labor Law
Library has in its collection many print CCH materials, such as the Labor Law Reporter and Labor Arbitration Awards.
The library also provides access to the electronic CCH resource Internet Tax Research NetWork (available to DOL employees only).
While access to most of the information provided by CCH electronically requires a paid subscription,
CCH offers some useful and current information free of charge. Below are highlights of some of the free resources available:
- Labor & Employment Law <http://hr.cch.com/employment-law/>: CCH provides
summaries of both State and Federal Law Changes free of charge. The State Law Changes are updated at least
semi-monthly and are brief summaries of information contained in CCH subscription products. Although a subscription is required to
access the links in the monthly compilations, users can still view a brief listing of changes (if any) in labor-related law for each
state. Topics covered in the Federal Law Change Summaries include Employment Law, Labor Law, Benefits, Payroll,
Pension Law, and Social Security. To view the Federal & State Law Changes, visit the Labor & Employment Law page
(URL noted above), scroll down to the lower right side, and under the heading Summary of Law Updates, you will see a
link for the Federal Law Change Summaries and a link for for the State Law Changes.
- Employment Law News Library <http://hr.cch.com/news/employment/library.asp>: Updated daily, news stories from the past month
are provided. Stories cover developments in the Federal government, private sector, and important employment related cases. For news
specific to other employment related topics, use the links on the left side of the page under the Product Categories Heading:
BENEFITS, PAYROLL, PENSION, SAFETY / OSHA, & UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE / SOCIAL SECURITY (scroll down to the News & Information
