Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao: The high growth job training
initiative is an exciting new program that's going to help workers find jobs in
fast growing industries. First, it tracks which sectors of the economy are
experiencing rapid growth. Second, it gives grants to community colleges and
other institutions to set up programs that are going to train workers for these
opportunities. Health care, the skilled trades, biotechnology, and advanced
manufacturing are just a few of the industries looking for workers now.
