MEPI Underwrites Regional Labor Dialogue to Raise Awareness of Role of Labor in a Democracy

Muscat, Oman
December 11-13, 2005

MEPI co-sponsored the Regional Labor Dialogue that was held in Muscat from December 11-13, 2005, along with the Omani Ministry of Manpower and the U.S. Department of Labor. The Dialogue was attended by the Omani Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, and a number of Labor Ministers from Oman, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. Ambassador Richard L. Baltimore III and the Deputy Under Secretary for International Labor Affairs at the U.S. Department of Labor, Ms. Martha Newton, addressed the conferees.
