Surplus Grain for Wildlife Act
This Act, Surplus Grain for Wildlife Act (7 U.S.C. 447-449) -- Public Law 87-152, approved
August 17, 1961, (75 Stat. 389) authorized the Secretary of the Interior to requisition surplus
grain owned by the Commodity Credit Corporation to feed migratory birds or (upon the request
of a State agency) resident wildlife threatened with starvation.
The Act requires the Secretary or the State or reimburse the Corporation for costs of
packaging and transporting any requisitioned grain, and authorizes appropriations to the
Corporation for the value of any grain so transferred.
