Sri Lanka-Japan Society Meeting

1.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a Sri Lanka-Japan Civil Society Meeting on June 8 (Sun) in Tokyo (Akasaka Prince Hotel).


2.The Meeting will be attended on the Japanese side by representatives of the civil society and NGO (Non Governmental Organizations), relevant officials from the Government including Mr. Yasushi Akashi, Representative of the Government of Japan , and Mr. Mitsuhiro Saotome, Ambassador for the Civil Society; and on the Sri Lankan side by Mr. Milinda Moragoda, Minister of Economic Reform and Science and Technology, Dr. P. Saravanamuttu, Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA), government officials concerned, and representatives from NGOs and other organizations.

3.At the Meeting, participants will exchange views on the role of the civil society in supporting reconstruction and development in Sri Lanka.
