Flooding in Bangladesh - Humanitarian Response

Question:   Please provide an update on U.S. humanitarian aid to Bangladesh in response to recent flooding.

Answer:   The U.S. Mission to Bangladesh continues to closely monitor the situation in areas of the country most affected by flooding, and to coordinate relief operations with other donors, partner organizations, and the Government of Bangladesh to target the delivery of humanitarian aid to where it is most needed. USAID in Bangladesh funds a long-term program to improve the Government of Bangladesh’s flood preparedness capability. The program includes training on prevention and early warning techniques as well as building improvements for homes and businesses in the Delta area.
