Students and School Community Construct Girls' Hostel in Tanzania

The Mukulat Secondary School in Ngaramtoni, Arusha utilized a 2002 Ambassador's Special Self-Help Fund grant to construct a 36-bed girls' hostel. Students and the school community cleared the land, donated labor and funded the salaries of the construction workers. Form III and IV girls can now pursue their educational goals in a safe and secure environment provided by the cooperation between the community and the Ambassador's Special Self-Help Fund.  (Photos by American Embassy Dar es Salaam, 2002)
