President's Volunteer Service Awards Available Free of Charge for VIPS Volunteers

Citizen Corps has partnered with the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation to provide 10,000 Presidential Volunteer Service Awards free of charge to Citizen Corps Councils and Citizen Corps partner programs, including local VIPS programs.

Registered VIPS programs have been pre-registered to be official Certifying Organizations. Please note that, although the awards are free of charge, programs are responsible for shipping and handling costs. Click here for more information.

In cooperation with the IACP, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has announced the winners of the 2008 Outstanding Achievement in Law Enforcement Volunteer Programs Award.

Over 50 new items have been added to the VIPS Resource Library. The VIPS Resource Library provides sample documents, including application forms, policies, procedures and volunteer handbooks, from registered programs throughout the country.
