Wheelchairs

Sit to Stand Wheelchair Sit-Stand wheelchairs enable patients/residents to stand easily and can be used independently or with the help of a healthcare worker.

Lateral Transfer Device

The use of lateral transfer devices could eliminate the risks and costs of back injury caused by lifting patients/residents during lateral transfer procedures.

  • assembling multiple staff members to lift patients/residentsfor lateral transfers won't be necessary

Repositioning Device

Device allows a single person staff to mechanically reposition a patient/residents by pulling the sheet under the resident/patient with the use of a mechanical crank. Mechanical advantage replaces multiple staff in the repositioning process. Repositioning Device

Slip Sheet/Roller Sheets

Transfer aid - Roller Sheets Roller sheets: Roller sheets are constructed of low-friction fabrics that glide over themselves during a patient/residents transfer. They are used to reposition patient/residents in bed and facilitate independent positioning.
Slip Sheets Slip sheets: Help to reduce friction while laterally transferring patients/residents or repositioning patients/residents in bed and reduce the force workers need to exert to move the patient/residents.

Height-Adjustable Electric Beds

Height-adjustable Electric Bed Height-adjustable Electric Beds: Have height controls to allow for easy transfers from bed height to wheelchair height. These beds can be kept low to the ground for patient/residents safety and then raised up for interaction with staff.

Gait Belt

Gait belt Gait belt: A gait belt with handles can be used during ambulation, during a stand pivot transfer, guiding a patient/residents along a transfer board and during seated transfers.

Sliding Boards

  • Some newer versions of sliding boards have devices that allow the resident to slide easily along the board without tissue damage and with no lifting involved.

  • The friction of the movement is borne by the sliding board, not the patients/residents skin. These devices are very useful for difficult transfers like car to wheelchair.

  • This type of sliding board protects against back injuries, brachial plexus injuries and conditions which can cause pressure sores.

  • Sliding boards are generally used in conjunction with gait belts.

Transfer/Pivot Discs

Pivot Transfer Disk Pivot Discs: Transfer disk used for standing and seated pivot transfers.
