Embassy Tbilisi Celebrates Independence Day


Tbilisi, Georgia
July 3, 2003

On July 3, 2003,  Ambassador and Mrs. Miles hosted an official reception in Tbilisi, Georgia to mark the 267th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Guests included Georgian Government officials, Parliamentarians, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives from business, NGOs, and other cultural and educational organizations. Among the honored guests were State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze, Speaker of the Parliament Nino Burjanadze, Ambassador Robert Hunter, and ambassadors from several foreign embassies. A surprise guest of honor was American movie star Nick Nolte who was in Tbilisi to attend the premier of a movie he starred in with Georgian actress Nutsa Kukhianidze.
