QUESTION: Madame Secretary, can I ask you a quick question on Iran?
SECRETARY RICE: Sorry?
QUESTION: Are you hopeful --
QUESTION: Are you hopeful over the weekend on Iran’s --
SECRETARY RICE: Oh, about the P-5+1 --
QUESTION: About Bill Burns sitting down at the table?
SECRETARY RICE: Well, we will see what the Iranians say. I think it’s going to be very clear to them that the international community and the P-5+1 are completely united in both tracks, that is, offering the Iranians a way to really engage with the international community, but also being insistent that they need to suspend verifiably their program in order to enter negotiations.
Thank you.
QUESTION: Are you hopeful, though, that they might be positive – that it might be a positive approach?
SECRETARY RICE: I don’t know. We are obviously – the point that we’re making is that the United States is firmly behind this diplomacy, firmly behind and unified with our allies, and hopefully, the Iranians will take that message. Thank you.
QUESTION: Thank you.
