David Cooperrider, Professor and Chairman of the
Department of Organizational Behavior at the Weatherhead School of Management
at Case Western Reserve University, serves as adviser to many organizations,
including Yellow Roadway Corporation, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, the
United States Navy, the EPAs Office of Research and Development and the
American Red Cross. Professor Cooperrider is originator of AI and
co-author of many books including Appreciative Inquiry: A Positive
Revolution in Change. He has written over 50 articles and eight books in
the areas of leading change. His exciting work has been cited in Fast
Company, Forbes, the New York Times and many other
publications.
David was recognized in 2000 as among the Top Ten
Visionaries in the field by Training Magazine, and in 2004 he
received the prestigious Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and
Performance Award in Washington D.C. for distinguished contribution
to the field of organizational learning from the American Society for Training
and Development.
The United Nations sought out Professor Cooperriders expertise
for his ability to use Appreciative Inquiry in bringing about consensus among
large groups of people. He facilitated a meeting of 500 world leaders at the
United Nations for the Global Compact Leaders Summit last year in New York
City. The Global Compact meeting focused on how to promote responsible global
corporate citizenship and was attended by company CEOs, heads of international
labor and civil society organizations, heads of U.N. agencies and selected
government ministers.
