The U.S. Department of Labor issued All Agency Memorandum 200 that provides guidance on the reinstatement of the Davis-Bacon Act in the areas seriously affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.  In addition, the Department has issued a fact sheet that provides Guidance on the Reinstatement of the Davis-Bacon Act in Areas Impacted by Hurricane Katrina

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued a final rule in the Federal Register on August 26 that fully implements the Wage Determinations OnLine (WDOL) Internet website at www.wdol.gov. The new rule updates existing regulations to provide contracting agencies a streamlined method for requesting and obtaining, through the online services provided by the Internet website, appropriate prevailing wage determinations for their contract actions that are subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA) or the Davis Bacon Act (DBA). New elaws Advisor provides important information about Special Minimum Wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act.  The U.S. Department of Labor has expanded its on-line elaws Advisor to include a segment on workers with disabilities who receive special minimum wages under the provisions of Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act.  Employers, vocational rehabilitation specialists, workers with disabilities, and their families can access timely and accurate information about this important program by logging on to www.dol.gov/elaws.
