PUGH Acting Administrator, Wage and Hour Division SUBJECT: Publication of the Fourth Edition of the Service Contract Act Directory of Occupations January 1993 The fourth edition of the Service Contract Act Directory of Occupations is now available and being sold on a subscription basis for twenty-six dollars ($26.00). Refer to stock number 929-041-00000-3 when placing your order. The Directory provides a common vocabulary for occupations most often included in Service Contract Act wage determinations. It is used by procurement staff as a key time-saver in developing Service Contract Act wage determination requests. Wage and Hour staff utilize the Directory in developing and enforcing wage determinations. All new and revised wage determinations will reflect content of the fourth edition beginning March 1, 1993. It was intended that the Directory continue to be produced in loose-leaf form, to facilitate use of annual Directory supplements. Since copies of the fourth edition have been inadvertently bound, subscribers will receive an entire loose- leaf version with the first annual supplement. For the first time, the fourth edition of the Directory provides Federal Grade Equivalencies for most of the occupations included. These will help to standardize the development of Service Contract Act wage determinations and assist interested-parties in preparing and evaluating conformance requests. The fourth -2- edition also provides appendices to assist readers in following changes from previous editions to the current version. Inquiries regarding the SCA Directory fourth edition may be-made by telephone to Mr. Ron Karp at 202-219-7531. Also-, Mr. Karp should be informed of any Directory problems and suggested changes or additions.
