Fin Clipping, Tagging and Distribution

Fin clipping fingerling lake trout. Loading lake trout fingerlings into a mobile fin clipping trailer. Loading lake trout fingerlings into a mobile fin clipping trailer. The fingerlings are diverted to holding compartments. Fish distribution truck.

One fish at a time is collected.

The nose of the fingerling is held against a devise that will insert a coded wire tag. After the fingerlings receive a fin clip and coded wire tag, they are released back into the cement raceway. This coded wire tagging unit safely inserts a wire tag into the noise. Each tag contains descriptive marks that can identify each group of fish.
