Current Status: Yesterday, crews mopped up hot spots in the Twin Peak area. Crews monitored and mopped up in the Limekiln area as hot spots were detected. Rehabilitation efforts continued on the dozer line above the Hermitage. Today crews will mop up and retrieve hose throughout the fire area.
Today's Objectives: Provide for firefighter and public safety, keep the fire east of Hermitage Road and hold the fire on the ridge south of Gamboa Ridge.
Evacuations: There are no Evacuation Watches or Warnings.
Highway, Road and Area Closures: Rock and debris fall continues on Highway 1 resulting in periodic closures. Drivers are strongly advised to heed Caltrans caution/closure signs or risk damage to their vehicles. Caltrans has posted electronic status boards at the following locations: the junction of Highway 101 and Highway 46, the junction of Highway 1 and Highway 46, Hearst Castle, north of the Willow Creek bridge, Nepenthe in Big Sur, and the junction of Highway 1 and Rio Road in Carmel. Please drive carefully.
All roads, including Nacimiento-Fergusson, Willow Creek Road and South Coast Ridge Road to Highway 1 will reopen at noon Monday, October 27th. Cone Peak Road will remain closed until further notice.
Weather: The high pressure aloft over the fire area will weaken through Monday. Today, winds are expected to be 2-5 mph with gusts of 10-15 mph, temperatures 75-85 degrees, and relative humidity 10-14% above 1500 feet and 40-70% below 1500 feet.
Agencies: The Central Coast Interagency Incident Management Team 7 will transition at 6:00 a.m. Monday to the local Type 3 team under Incident Commander Mark Nunez (U.S. Forest Service).

Highway 1 and other roads affected by the fire will continue to have rolling rocks and debris. Be cautious while driving and on these roads.
