NATIONAL ASIAN PEACE OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE...

As the new NAPOA President, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to the previous and new executive board. My goals are to follow the bylaws and objectives of NAPOA.

It is truly my goal to unite all the regional chapters to make NAPOA into a stronger organization. I will need the help of all members and the executive boards of each regional chapter.

My short term goals are to obtain 501 (C)(3) status for NAPOA within a few months. Vice President David Lum has already spearheaded this endeavor. NAPOA has a bylaw committee working on adding onto our bylaws to allow adhoc members to apply directly to NAPOA if there are no regional chapters in close proximity. Additionally, President Gun Lee of the Asian Law Enforcement Society (ALES) based out of Washington D.C. has express their desire to join NAPOA. The Board of Directors who are the Presidents of the regional organizations and the Executive Board will soon vote to change the bylaws to welcome the Asian Law Enforcement Society into NAPOA.

My long term goals are to have NAPOA grow, be more organized, more recognized and be an Organization that other organizations and people go to for assistance and guidance.

The Executive Board and I are looking forward to working for our members. Please do not hesitate in contacting anyone of us.

Lastly, we will be having our next National Conference at Washington D.C. from August 25 - 29, 2008. The Sheraton Crystal City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia has graciously provided our members with a group rate of $119.00 which is significantly lower than their normal rate. We need your participation to make this conference a success. We would like to have everyone of our regional organizations send representatives and to make any recommendations that you may want.

Fraternally,

Regan Fong
