Lamu Cultural FestivalU.S. Embassy NairobiNairobi, Kenya August 1, 2004 Embassy Nairobi was the principal supporter of the annual Lamu Cultural Festival, held July 30- Aug. 1, 2004. Amb. William Bellamy attended many of the Festival’s activities, which included a Kiswahili poetry competition, dhow, swimming, canoe and donkey races plus displays of traditional crafts and skills, concerts of taarab music and traditional dances.
