Classrooms Being Constructed in Burkina Faso



Two new classrooms are at various stages of construction, with a group of women doing their part by transporting sand and water for the mixing of cement. (Photos taken February 13, 2003 by Embassy Ouagadougou SSH Coordinator Joseph Sanou)

The ground is prepared for the laying of bricks, with women and children observing the process. Heavy tree limbs made into rakes are used to prepare classroom floor for the pouring of cement.
