Ambassador Nomination - Eritrea

Personnel Announcement

The President intends to nominate Ronald K. McMullen, of Iowa, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the State of Eritrea. Dr. McMullen, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, currently serves as Director for Afghanistan and Pakistan Affairs at the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs at the Department of State. Prior to this, he served as Associate Dean of the Leadership and Management School at the Foreign Service Institute's George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Rangoon, Burma. Dr. McMullen received his bachelor's degree from Drake University, a master's degree from the University of Minnesota, and a master's degree as well as his PhD from the University of Iowa.
