Personnel Announcement - Republic of GuineaThe President today has nominated individuals to serve in his Administration:
The President has nominated Phillip Carter III, of Virginia, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Guinea. Mr. Carter, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, currently serves as Country Director in the Office of West African Affairs at the Bureau of African Affairs at the Department of State. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Director of the Office of East African Affairs in the Bureau of African Affairs at the Department of State. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Antananarivo, Madagascar. Mr. Carter received his bachelor's degree from Drew University and his master's degree from Yale University.
