NACOSH PUBLIC MEETING SET FOR DECEMBER 16 IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

WASHINGTON -- - The next meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH) is scheduled for Dec. 16, 2003, in Washington, D.C. Notice of the meeting is scheduled to appear in the Nov. 20, 2003 Federal Register.

The meeting will be held in Room N3437 (A-C) of the Labor Department Building, 200 Constitution Ave., N.W., in Washington. Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting which will run from 9 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m.

Discussions will center on activities of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Items on the agenda include:
  • Updates on OSHA and NIOSH
  • Workgroup Meetings and reports
  • Whistleblower Updates
  • Employee Fatality Trends
  • Workplace Violence
NACOSH was established under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to advise the secretaries of labor and health and human services on occupational safety and health programs. Members of the 12-person advisory committee are chosen on the basis of their knowledge and experience in occupational safety and health.

Written data, views or comments for consideration by the committee may be submitted, preferably with 20 copies, to Wil Epps at OSHA, Room N3641, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., 20210. Requests to address the committee orally will be considered by the Chair who will determine whether or not time permits.
