USAID Administrator Andrew S. Natsios and Assistant Secretary of State Walter Kansteiner To Brief on the Food Crisis in Southern Africa (August 20, 2002)

Administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Andrew S. Natsios and Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Walter H. Kansteiner will brief the press on Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at 12:30 p.m. in the State Department’s Press Briefing Room.  They will discuss the urgency of the food crisis in Southern Africa and explain the U.S. response to it. 

The USAID Administrator and Assistant Secretary will take questions from the media.  Please note that this briefing will be on-camera and on-the-record.

Media representatives may cover this event upon presentation of either (1) a U.S. government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a photo ID issued by the employing media organization, or (3) a letter on official letterhead from their news organization verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo ID (driver’s license or passport).
