Travel by Secretary of State Colin Powell to The Bahamas

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will travel to The Bahamas on February 6-7, 2002.  Secretary Powell will meet with the Bahamian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in Nassau to exchange views on bilateral cooperation in the areas of counternarcotics, illegal migration, financial reform, HIV/AIDS prevention, and regional issues.

While in The Bahamas, Secretary Powell also will meet with Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Foreign Ministers to discuss multilateral issues of concern to the region.

Press who wish to request a seat on the Secretary’s aircraft may add their names to the sign-up sheet posted in the Press Office, Room 2109, either in person or by phone (202 647-2492).  The sign-up sheet will close at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 1.
