Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Marc Grossman to Present the 2001 Awards for Corporate Excellence

Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Marc Grossman will present the 2001 Awards for Corporate Excellence at a ceremony in the Department's Dean Acheson Auditorium at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2002. The Awards - one to a large multinational and one to a small-to-medium size enterprise - have been given annually since 1999 by the Secretary of State in recognition of the vital role U.S. business plays to advance good corporate governance and democratic principles worldwide.

This event will be open to the press. Press interested in attending should arrive at the 23rd Street entrance.

Pre-set time for cameras: 7:00 a.m.

Pre-set time for still photographers and writers: 8:00 a.m.

Media representatives may cover this event upon presentation of either (1) a U.S. government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a photo ID issued by the employing media organization, or (3) a letter on official letterhead from their news organization verifying their employment as a journalists, accompanied by an official photo ID (driver’s license or passport).
