U.S. Special Cyprus Coordinator Weston's Itinerary

Question: Can you tell us when Ambassador Weston will arrive in Cyprus?

Answer: U.S. Special Cyprus Coordinator, Ambassador Thomas Weston is scheduled to arrive in Nicosia on Friday, December 6, 2002. Prior to arriving in Cyprus, Ambassador Weston will be engaged in consultations in London, Brussels, and Vienna. Ambassador Weston’s actual arrival date in Nicosia cannot be confirmed until he completes his preliminary consultations in the other European capitals. Ambassador Weston then plans to return to the U.S. via Europe, where he plans to continue to provide support to UN efforts to reach a Cyprus settlement.

Question: While in Cyprus, will Ambassador Weston meet with Under Secretary of State Marc Grossman?

Answer: At this time it does not appear that Ambassador Weston’s visit to Cyprus will overlap with Under Secretary Grossman’s.
