Cuba Transition Coordinator Caleb McCarry to Hold Briefing in Miami, Florida On Release of Second Report of the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba and the Compact with the Cuban People

Cuba Transition Coordinator Caleb McCarry will brief Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. on the release of the second report of the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba and the Compact with the Cuban People. The briefing will be held in the Grand Ballroom at the Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay, 1717 North Bayshore Drive, Miami, Florida.

The Report and the Compact were presented to the President last week and released to the public Monday, July 10, 2006.

The Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba is co-chaired by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez.

This on-the-record, on-camera briefing is open for press coverage. Members of the press should arrive by 12:30 p.m. for setup.

The second report of the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba and the Compact with the People of Cuba can be accessed at www.cafc.gov.
