Change in Time and Participants: Briefing on the Second Report of the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba and the Compact with the Cuban People

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of Commerce Carlos M. Gutierrez will make opening remarks on the release of the second report of the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba and the Compact with the Cuban People on Monday, July 10, at 11:15 a.m. in the State Department Briefing Room. Following their remarks, Cuba Transition Coordinator Caleb McCarry will brief the press and answer questions.

This on-the-record, on-camera briefing is open for press coverage. Members of the press who do not have a State Department building pass should arrive at the 23rd Street entrance by 10:30 a.m. for clearance through security and access to the briefing room.

Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver_s license or passport).


The second report of the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba and the Compact with the People of Cuba will be available Monday at http://www.cafc.gov .
