National Intelligence Director Negroponte to Address 21st Annual Meeting of Overseas Security Advisory Council

Director of National Intelligence John D. Negroponte will address the 21st annual meeting of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, in the Dean Acheson Auditorium of the U.S. Department of State. The OSAC annual meeting will run from November 14-16, 2006.

Established by Secretary of State George P. Shultz in 1985, the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) is a public/private partnership to foster cooperation and the exchange of security information between the U.S. Government and the U.S. private sector operating overseas.

The November 15 morning session will be open for press coverage and will be the only session of the annual meeting open to the media.

Diplomatic Security Assistant Secretary Richard J. Griffin will also address the conference during the open media session.

Media representatives may attend the November 15 morning session upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver's license or passport).
