Secretary of State Colin L. Powell to Address the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will give the keynote address at the annual dinner of the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 8:50 p.m. at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 2700 F Street, NW, Washington D.C., South Gallery (rooftop level above the Hall of Nations). Other speakers include Senators Bill Frist and John Kerry. Glenn Close will be the Master of Ceremonies.

The dinner program begins at 7:30 p.m. and is open for press coverage. Video camera coverage at the dinner will be pooled. Additional cameras will be located in the KC Café and will have access to audio and video lines. All press covering Secretary Powell’s address must be in place by 8:30 p.m., but are welcome to arrive and depart throughout the rest of the program as necessary. Press should enter through the Hall of States.

Pre-set time for network pool: 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Pre-set time for additional cameras: 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Access time for correspondents and still photographers: 7:00 p.m.
Note:   All press covering Secretary Powell’s remarks must be in place by 8:30 p.m.

Media representatives may cover this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center); (2) a photo ID issued by employing media organization; or (3) a letter on official letterhead from employing organization verifying employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo ID (driver's license or passport).
