Deputy Secretary of State Richard L. Armitage to Address National Council for International Visitors Annual Meeting Ambassadors Luncheon

Deputy Secretary of State Richard L. Armitage will address the opening day luncheon of the National Council of International Visitors (NCIV) annual meeting on Thursday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m. at the Loews L’Enfant Plaza Hotel (480 L’Enfant Plaza) in the Grand Ballroom. This event is an annual training and networking opportunity for over 300 representatives of the 95 member councils of the NCIV from cities and communities around the United States. The luncheon will also be attended by ambassadors from the Washington diplomatic corps, current participants and alumni of the Department of State’s International Visitor Program, and members of the international exchange community.

The NCIV Annual Meeting is sponsored by the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Office of International Visitors.

Media representatives are invited to cover the luncheon in the Grand Ballroom.

Pre-set time for camera set-up:   11:15 a.m.
Final access time for camera set:   11:45 a.m.

All press must be in place by 12:45 p.m.

Media representatives may cover this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center); (2) a photo ID issued by the employing media organization; or (3) a letter on official letterhead from their news organization verifying their employment as journalists, accompanied by an official photo ID (driver's license or passport).
