Swearing In Ceremony for Ambassador John Danilovich as Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge CorporationPresident George W. Bush will deliver remarks at the Swearing In Ceremony for Ambassador John Danilovich as Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., in the Benjamin Franklin Room. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will also deliver remarks.
MCC, a U.S. government corporation established by President Bush in January 2004, administers the Millennium Challenge Account. MCC represents a different approach to development assistance with a focused mandate to reduce poverty through grants designed to encourage sustainable economic growth in the world’s poorest countries. As stewards of the American taxpayer dollar, MCC is designed to make aid more effective by working with countries that have demonstrated a commitment to good governance so that aid can be used well.
