Kashmir - Latest Bombing

Question:   What is the U.S. reaction to the car bombing in Kashmir? Who is responsible for the attack and what was the motive behind this incident?

Answer:   The United States strongly condemns today’s bombing in Pulwana, in southern Kashmir, which killed or injured dozens of civilians. We hope the perpetrators will be quickly identified and brought to justice. We have not heard a claim of responsibility, but note that there is a past pattern of violence by militant groups when peace overtures are underway. We continue to support efforts to reduce tensions and resolve differences over Kashmir peacefully.
