Methamphetamine Laboratories: DEA, El Paso Intelligence Center, Clandestine Laboratory Seizure System (CLSS)

The National Clandestine Laboratory Seizure System captures information on all types of clandestine laboratories seized within the United States.

When a clandestine laboratory is seized, the seizure is captured either as a laboratory, a chemical or equipment only seizure, or a dumpsite. If the seizure is consider a lab, that means there is a sufficient combination of equipment and chemicals that either has been or could be used in the manufacture. A chemical seizure is when chemicals or precursors used to make the drug are seized. A dumpsite seizure is where discarded laboratory equipment, empty chemical containers, waste by products, pseudoephedrine containers, etc., were seized.

If a lab contains a quantity of methamphetamine, or any other drug, that information is captured.
