Victim Assistance
Regional Resources
To assist in providing timely and professional victim witness services, eight volunteer Regional Coordinator positions have been established. These Regional Coordinators provide the link between the local victim witness coordinators and the ever growing network of federal, state and local service providers. They also oversee the training provided to the Department of the Interior law enforcement community. If called upon, they can provide the initial training or in-service training detailing the requirements of the Victims of Crime Act. They also report the number and types of services provided in their respective regions. The aggregate figures on services provided are compiled for the Department and submitted to the Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crime.
