Guidance and Referral on Foreign Service Lifestyle Issues

Foreign Service employees and family members coping with personal and community crises in the face of the unique challenges associated with service overseas require a strong support system.  Guidance and assistance is available from FLO's Crisis Management and Support Services Officer and members of the FLO support staff.

All communications are confidential.  To the left, you will find a list of issues and concerns, challenges and events  that affect Foreign Service families. Please click on the category that interests you.  If your concern is not listed here, we are still available to help.

FLO's Crisis Management and Support Services staff has developed resources and expertise in supporting Foreign Service families, specifically in the areas of Inter-country Adoption, Contingency Planning, the Death of a Foreign Service Employee or Family Member, Elder Care Issues, Support for Foreign Born Spouses, Family Members Not On Employee's Official Travel Orders (Members of Household), Expeditious Naturalization, Post Evacuations, Divorce, Separations, and Support for Families Experiencing an Unaccompanied Tour.  If you are a member of the U.S. Foreign Service, we encourage you to contact the FLO Crisis Management and Support Services staff at FLOAskSupportServices@state.gov with your questions and concerns .
