On January 2, U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Nancy Powell donated vehicles and communications equipment to the Frontier Corps-Northwest Frontier Province at an official ceremony in Peshawar. This equipment was provided to the Government of Pakistan as part of the Pakistan Border Security Project, initiated in the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001.

Last month, Assistant Secretary for South Asian Affairs Christina Rocca presented communications equipment to the newly-appointed Pakistani Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat. (January 2003, State Department photo)
