ACQUISITION SOLUTIONS, INC. RETAINED TO MANAGE AND SUPPORT
NEW INTEGRATED WIRELESS NETWORK (IWN)

Iwn Is A Collaborative Effort By The Departments Of Justice, Homeland Security, And The Treasury

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In a first-of-its-kind joint initiative to improve wireless communications nationwide, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Treasury today announced they have retained the services of Acquisition Solutions, Inc. to provide strategic acquisition support and performance management assistance for the Integrated Wireless Network (IWN) Program. The IWN is a collaborative effort by the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and the Treasury.

“As the federal government aims to bolster its communication abilities through the Integrated Wireless Network, today’s announcement provides the capability and promise of establishing solutions that will ultimately endow essential law enforcement entities the interoperability they need to enhance public safety,” said Paul Corts, Assistant Attorney General for Administration of the Justice Department’s Justice Management Division.

The IWN will be a consolidated nationwide federal wireless communications service that replaces stovepipe stand alone component systems, and supports law enforcement, first responder, and homeland security requirements with integrated communications services (voice, data, and multimedia) in a wireless environment. The IWN will implement solutions to provide federal agency interoperability with appropriate links to state, local, and tribal public safety, and homeland security entities.

The Department of Justice awarded a competitive GSA Schedule delivery order to Acquisition Solutions, Inc. (ASI) of Oakton, VA, on March 8, 2004. ASI will provide market research and acquisition support to identify and craft an acquisition strategy to achieve the IWN’s objectives and develop the contract performance management strategy. ASI will provide acquisition support to award one or more IWN implementation contracts.
