Alliance Signing Ceremony Set for Thurs., July 28, in Tucker, Ga.

ATLANTA -- Lamar Outdoor Advertising, Georgia Institute of Technology's Safety, Health and Environmental Technology Division, and the three Georgia offices of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration have formed an alliance to protect workers in the outdoor advertising industry.

A signing ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., July 28, at the Atlanta-East OSHA area office.

The alliance will focus on reducing worker exposure to safety hazards on outdoor advertising job sites. It will address safe operation of aerial lifts, fall protection, electrical and trench safe work practices, and methods to avoid being struck by objects.

Members of the alliance plan to reach their goal - safer and healthier workplaces - through training, education and outreach programs for employers, employees and the public.
