Practice Manual and Questions & Answers

The Board has issued a fully revised and updated Practice Manual as well as the Questions and Answers Regarding Proceedings Before the Board. Highlights of the updates include:

• Changes to take into account the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.



• A comprehensive Word Index and Citations Index for the Practice Manual.



• A new Appendix K - Where to File a Motion, which provides easy-to-use general guidance on whether to file a motion with the Board or the Immigration Court.



• Two useful appendices added to the Practice Manual last year: Appendix I - Telephonic Information, and Appendix J - Citations Guidelines.



• Changes and updates throughout the Practice Manual in response to suggestions from users.



• Changes throughout the Questions and Answers to make them easier for pro se respondents to use.

Since both documents have been revised throughout, from now on you should consult only this new release of the Practice Manual and the Questions and Answers. All pages of the Practice Manual are dated June 15, 2004.
