Secretary Rice in Middle East To Prepare for Peace Conference
(Sept. 20):
"We have had wide-ranging discussions today about the discussions that are going on in the bilateral channel between Prime Minister Olmert and President Abbas. I was very pleased to hear that teams have been appointed to work on a document that you would hope to complete by the time of the international meeting."

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was in Israel and the Palestinian territories from September 18-20, 2007. The Secretary visited Jerusalem and Ramallah for meetings with officials from Israel and the Palestinian Authority to continue discussions on advancing the development of a political horizon and the two state solution.
