Inauguration of Mullah Mohmood Mosque

10/22/2003, Kabul Afghanistan: Charge d’affaires David Sedney and Minister of Information and Culture Saeed Makhdoom Raheen inaugurated the Mullah Mohmood Mosque this afternoon. The U.S. Government provided a grant of  $33,310 from the Ambassador's Fund for the rehabilitation of the mosque. The contractor, Development of Humanitarian Services for Afghanistan (DHSA), contributed an additional $17,000 to complete the rehabilitation of the historic 17th-century mosque in Sang Tarashi, Shor Bazar, Kabul. Charge d’affaires Sedney delivered a check to DHSA for the first installment of the grant at the ceremonies at the foot of the mosque.
