Honored World War II Aviators at Grand Opening of
New Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site

At the grand opening of the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site on October 10, 2008, Deputy Secretary of the Interior Lynn Scarlett cut the ribbon to open the new site, joining Alabama Governor Bob Riley and some of those whom the new national park site honors—the first African-American military aviators, who served with distinction in World War II.
