Freedom of Information Act Page

Welcome to the Selective Service System (SSS) Freedom of Information Act Page. This page was created in accordance with the Electronic Freedom of Information Act Amendments (E-FOIA) of 1996. The SSS FOIA Page provides basic instructions on obtaining information through the FOIA. Specific guidance on filing a FOIA request can be found in SSS’s "Access to Public Information" handbook.

When submitting a FOIA request to SSS, requesters should state the request is being made under the Freedom of Information Act, the request should be as specific as possible in identifying requested records, and the requester’s should include their name, address and telephone number.

Please review the documents currently available on the SSS Home Page and in the Reading Room before submitting a request.
